Revision as of 17:37, 10 February 2016
In addition to their efforts together as B'z, both Tak Matsumoto and Koshi Inaba have embarked on successful solo careers both in the studio and on tour. Tak has thus far released seven total singles, thirteen albums, and two home videos. Koshi has released six singles, four albums, and two solo home videos. While Tak has released solo material at various different points in his career, the pair set aside time for coinciding solo works in 2004, 2010, and 2014.

Koshi's first solo tour. Given that he had previously released two singles and studio albums prior to the tour, with a third released shortly after its conclusion, Koshi had plenty of material for the many dates of the tour that lasted from mid-July to late August 2004. The setlist changed a great many times during the tour's run and featured only Koshi's solo material with no B'z songs included. Notably, one of the support members responsible for guitar on the tour was Yoshinobu Ohga who would later become a backing guitarist for B'z beginning in 2011. Concurrent Events: THURSDAY LIVE at hills Bread Factory "ROCK NIGHT" OPENING ACT, SUMMER SONIC 04, THE ROCK ODYSSEY 2004 |

Koshi's second solo tour, this time in support of his latest solo album Hadou. The setlist featured songs from throughout his solo catalogue and saw longtime B'z drummer Shane Gaalaas join full-time for the entire tour. The tour itself covered all of Japan, beginning in Fukuroi's Ecopa Arena and ending at the esteemed Nippon Gaishi Hall. Concurrent Events: SUMMER SONIC 2010 (Slash featuring Koshi Inaba: "SAHARA") |
|||
Koshi's third solo tour, taking place in June 2014 in support of his fifth studio album Singing Bird. |
|||
Koshi's fourth solo tour that toured Japan from January to March of 2016 with the finale taking place over three nights at the world famous Nippon Budokan. |

A joint tour between Koshi and Native American guitarist Stevie Salas in support of their collaborative studio album CHUBBY GROOVE, with whom he has frequently collaborated with over the years. Tak's first solo tour outside of B'z. The tour came in support of Tak's solo album, Rock'n Roll Standard Club, on which he provided his own take on a number of rock classics by the likes of Whitesnake, Led Zeppelin, the Michael Schenker Group, Rick Derringer, and Deep Purple. The live tour consisted of songs not included on the album itself, with further classics such as "Mama Kin" by Aerosmith and "Back in Black" by AC/DC also being covered. B'z support members Takanobu Masuda and Kaichi Kurose joined Tak for the tour on keyboards and drums, respectively. |

The sole live tour by TMG, Tak Matsumoto Group, an international rock supergroup consisting of Tak alongside members of fellow rock acts Mr. Big's Eric Martin and Night Ranger's Jack Blades. The tour saw the group touring for a month and a half in the summer of 2004 during Tak's break from B'z duties, with the setlist consisting mostly of songs from the group's only album, TMG I. Notably, the encore also included covers of two classic numbers by Night Ranger and Mr. Big. Concurrent Events: SUMMER SONIC 04 |

Tak Matsumoto & Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra Special Collaboration 2004: |
A special groundbreaking three-night engagement between Tak Matsumoto and the world-famous Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. The sold-out shows featured Tak playing guitar affront a full orchestra as they performed orchestral arrangements of Tak's compositions both of the solo and B'z varieties. The arrangements were later recorded and released on Tak's solo album of the same year, House Of Strings. Concurrent Events: THURSDAY LIVE at hills Bread Factory "WEST COAST NIGHT vol.2", THURSDAY LIVE at hills Bread Factory "OOM NIGHT", 12th Seigaku Alumni Festival: Tak Matsumoto Live Concert |

The tour for Tak's collaboration with American jazz legend Larry Carlton in support of their joint album TAKE YOUR PICK. The tour held Japanese dates from June to September, followed by two dates in Taiwan and Hong Kong later in October. Many of the performances were held with two per day at select venues. All songs from the joint album were played during the setlist, followed by an encore consisting of Larry's well-regarded classic "Room 335" and Tak's most well-known solo effort "#1090 ~Thousand Dreams~". |

Tour in support of Tak's 2014 solo album New Horizon. It was the first true solo tour in Tak's career. The tour spanned one month, from May to June, and again saw Tak playing double shows for many of the venues as he did in 2010. Support members included John Ferraro on drums, Travis Carlton on bass, Akira Onozuka on keyboards, and Yoshinobu Ohga on backup guitar. |
