OH JAPAN ~OUR TIME IS NOW~ is the debut single by TMG (Tak Matsumoto Group), released on March 31, 2004. "TMG", the Tak Matsumoto Group, was a rock supergroup comprised of Tak on guitar, Mr. Big frontman Eric Martin on Vocals, Damn Yankees and Night Ranger member Jack Blades on bass, and Chris Frazier on drums. Tak was responsible for the music while Eric Martin and Jack Blades composed the lyrics, which are all entirely in English. Both songs from the single would later be collected on their likewise debut album, TMG I, released months later. The release of the single was preceded by a large press conference attended by over 100 members of the Japanese press.

- File:tmg01 01.ogg It was Tak who requested that his collaborators utilize "Japan" as part of the lyrics, as the song had already been floated as the theme to sports coverage in Japan prior to the recording. Tak mentioned in press interviews that he had dreamed of writing an anthem of the sort for Japan and that Eric and Jack had brought great energy to the sessions upon hearing the idea. The two worked hard to make it the best song possible for the desired theme and all were reportedly very pleased with the result.
