RISKY is the fourth studio album by B'z, released on November 7th, 1990.
It would be with this album that Tak Matsumoto assumed his role as the band's sole producer for all releases that followed.
The album's titular "risk" undertaken by the band proved fortuitous at release. At last, RISKY secured the band their first number one hit with 314,770 copies sold at launch. This would be over seven times as many copies sold as previous effort BREAK THROUGH that had released earlier in the same year. Unusually, with the band's increased profile in ensuing years, RISKY would unusually sell even more copies in 1991, having it rank in at number 10 on the year-end chart compared to its finish at rank 26 for 1990. Copies continued to be moved en masse into 1992, with the album ranking in at 50 for 1992. Over time, RISKY has sold over 1,695,900 physical copies, enough to be certified Million by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
